Last week I was in El Salvador visiting my family.

In the afternoon we went out for ice cream at this delicious place called Liebe Das, it's located in Multiplaza and if you're there I highly recommend it. I specially digged the idea, coz is all about the 'DIY' concept and the service was super kind.

Besides I also run into this two girls with a very particular style.

They get inspired in the Japanese harajuku style.

The whole look is very planned, just take a closer look to the shoes.

Mask!

A few days ago it was Carnival Fest and at home we made a plaster mask>

The whole process was super fun & therefore I leave some pics.

All you need is a Roll of Plaster, some water, petroleum jelly and scissors.

First> Wash your face properly and apply the vaseline where you want the mask.

This is Important!

{Otherwise the plaster sticks to your face and you'll suffer extreme depilation}

Second> Cut small strips of plasters, pass them quickly through water and apply to your face.

Through plaster layers try to create the form you want.

Third> Once you have formed the mask, let it dry in approximately 10 minutes.

Fourth> The dry mask is white, but you can paint it and then decorate.

We used black paint, lace and some golden sequins to create this!

WOW!

yeah wow-> it wasn't that hard was it?

Pandemic is an exhibition currently at the Alliance Francaise in Guatemala.

It has a very strong theme and for those of you who tought that art was just sculptures and paintings I present you a few pics that will revolutionize your perception.

Personally, I believe that everything is art and everyone can be an artist.

I recommend you to pay a visit because maybe this show will change concepts.

Congratulations to Bianca for being a different kind of artist :)

I believe in Guatemalans

How can I support my opinion if every day we are surrounded by negativity?

well, there's a very simple example:

because I am super confident person who speaks with all sorts of strangers from different places, all kind of strata

and so far...

most have been super nice!

yes, some are are scared or impressed by my strange approach, but in general, guatemalan are "Good People" and always willing to cooperate.

So be proud of Guatemala because:

the good people really are more :D

yankee invasion?

A few days ago someone told me it would be a good idea to publish a post illustrating the yankee invasion in our country.

Although I understand his point of view because I can see many states influences in our society, i'll like to think of this as a reinterpretation with the purest taste of Tortrix. So I leave some photos to illustrate my vision of the subject.

(*This photo is my favorite, it stands for hiphop in Guate. Sadly it came out all blurry because i just stepped rushing out of the car to take it. Hehe! You can have a better look here down.)

Among lots of other things, I collect words. Style is not only clothes and appearances, and words show it too hehe.

So here I present my two new words: hipster and lastimamente.

The last one is in spanish and its misspelled, so what? it arose as a mistake, but now it's my new word and it represents and fascinates me. The same with clothes.

Hehe! Whenever I am in the car there's a lot of things, I would like to get out and calmly take the pictures... sometimes that's just impossible.

Days like this, dark and gray, make me sad. Since I'm already tired of waiting, I'd better cheer me up with pictures of a sunny day.

I love the sun, it's like my daily battery and these are just some photos I took of a beautiful vineyard and Château here in Guatemala, just a few minutes away from Antigua. I love it! One Sunday I went to have lunch and fell in love with the place; good food, good wine, good day, what more can you ask?

uniforms

clothes for me are a way of expression, they show a personal style or point of view and present it to the surrounding world; it's a form of art and also several times through history it has been used as a symbol of rebellion. no need for time travel, only by watching the latest events in Guatemala city that have been distinguished by the use of white.

So, why the title? Wouldn't uniforms stand for a censorship to our self-expression? Aren't they the very antithesis of freedom to dress up as one wishes? ABSOLUTELY!
... and generally I'm opposed to the use of uniforms because it restricts our autonomy and will, however I have noticed some benefits of uniforms such as:

serving as an icon
help to easy recognition
allow identification with an ideal
a team
a feeling
a group
they make us feel part of a larger goal and we are proud of it
they make our goal seem closer and this explains the contrast of this publication with others.

ok I was running away of tons of work but now I got to get back and return another day.

All my life I have had a dream career secret, many are wondering what is this? wel, it's a job that I have always wanted to be but I've never done.. And what's mine? Street-sweeper! yep! hehe! already told! that idea has always fascinated me, i dunno if an old Cantinflas movie I saw as a child has something to do or i don't know... And now I have come to meet a man who inspired me, besides he working as my dream career, he does it amazingly: singing, half dancing and blessing everyone around him!

Yesterday I went to this art opening called "Guatemalan Contemporary Artists and French Masters " where they choose 8 works by young Guatemalan with a different proposal on some French Classics.

As always I took several photos of different personalities found there:some with contrasting styles,others with a particular style expressing their own personalityI think in general the images show an atmosphere surrounded by creative people.
For example, I present you, as told, one of the best jugglers in Guatemala.Then, here is Bianca next to her strong artworkI love the gray bag down and it seems to be a original guatemalan design. If someone knows, tell us!Of course there where other photographers, so I hope at least someone will tell me the name of the magazine.

Answering my poll: I AM PROUD TO BE GUATEMALAN!

Because we live in a country where friends with or without a clear reason are always ready to party.

We know how to relax anywhere.
We are a small country but we like getting notice for being different.

But sometimes we also act shy.
We are really funny and we love laughing.
There is always more than one pal ready to give us a hand.
We have learn to feel proud of our heritage and we adapt it to our life (look how she wears her bag).
For this and many other things I am proud to have been born in Guatemala.
Following with the national pride theme I want you to hear the new music I added to the blog, it's a Guatemalan group called Ruta 5, they're only beginning, but I like them. What do you think?

Guatemala Has Fashion!

The survey results showed that 81% felt that Guatemala has its own sense of fashion, so here i left some pictures that capture the different styles I notice in these past days.

I like the idea of combining dress pants and jacket with tennis, for me it just makes the whole outfit seem fresh.

Although the idea of matching bears and square paintings would never have gone through my mind, the result is really interesting. Besides watch her shoes!

This style is super unique, leaves the mold and it also has a Spanish air ... maybe it's the skirt.

I am happy that summer is beginning, because that means hot, sun, beach, party ... hehehe! But in clothing it translates into smaller clothes and bright colors, such as those wore on those shirts! Yeah!

This last photo was taken today, if they had been alone, they might not have drawn my attention, but together they simply: MATCH!

Personally, like many, I'm not very kind of mondays. I'm so poorly excited to begin a new week and return to the routine of work or studies... Anyway, what can we do? Let's take some pictures!

Anyway, the idea was to photograph the people I look every morning. Every day I go out running early. There, while I'm in pants and pillow face, they are; people who woke up at night and have been working for hours. Those who do not work in offices, who do not follow a schedule, living only by their services ...

¡Hi People!

I wanted to show that in Guatemala we have a unique style that sets us apart from the rest, it's not only the ruins of Tikal, the typical costumes and the taste of tamales or chuchitos ...

Hey! Don't misunderstand me, I have nothing against it, on the contrary it Amazes me, but I think we have much more to show, for example how we dress, how we express ourselves, how we design ...

So, following some examples of streetstyle, this will be place for the guatemalan style, a place to show that special and happy way of living that we enjoy here, in Guate.
